This safari presents the exhilarating opportunity to witness leopards freely roaming in the natural habitat of the jungle. Enjoy this spellbinding wildlife destination, as you are taken into the heart of the forest to experience the exciting adventures of proud predatory beasts. Travel to a part of the trail, where there is very little movement, there are virtually no sounds except for the occasional calling of birds, and the air is crackling with expectation. It is in this quiet ambience, that you have a huge opportunity to sight rich and rare wildlife.  

Thrill yourself with a royal elephant ride as you are ferried regally by a mammoth at the famous Hathi Gaon. You will find almost 250 tuskers who live in this ‘elephant village’ and are well looked after by their ‘mahouts’ (elephant riders). Entrust yourself to one of these ‘mahouts’ most of whom are descendants of riders who served in the erstwhile Jaipur armies of past eras, and you will be taken on a riveting tour of the entire settlement. Watch how the welfare of the elephants is kindly and patiently looked after. Understand their engrossing and fascinating routine. You will fall in love with these gentle pachyderms as you get to know them.  

Jaipur is a shopper’s paradise. Fascinate yourself by visiting the many quaint markets and shops that dot the by-lanes and thoroughfares of the city, offering an array of jewellery, dresses and dress material. Be dazzled by exotic ornaments, embellished with fine ‘Kundan’ work, or the aesthetic blue pottery that Jaipur is renowned for. Try out dresses featuring intricate embroidery or block printing designs. Find interesting bargains among curios and artefacts that could become the highlights of your showcase or mantle-piece. Take one of the interesting shopping tours that will cover the Amer Fort, while leading you through displays of textiles from Sanganer and Babur. You could even try your hand at block-printing!

Experience a truly magnificent palace, a section of which is still inhabited by the royal family of Jaipur. Get immersed in the rich design of this sprawling edifice, artistically created from red and pink sandstone. Interest yourself with its enthralling architecture that is a symbiosis of Rajput and Mughal styles. No visit to Jaipur is complete without an experience of the renowned Hawa Mahal.  Built in 1799 and shaped like a crown, this honeycomb shaped palace has a phenomenal 953 windows carved into its sturdy walls, under arched roofs with hanging cornices.  Experience the natural air conditioning ingeniously enabled through the lattice-work of these cleverly structured windows. Delight yourself by accessing the uppermost floors through ramps, that were thoughtfully created instead of stairs. Amaze yourself with the history of this beautiful fort, built out of a ruler’s deep faith and devotion to Lord Krishna.

View the world’s largest cannon on wheels that now occupies a pride of place in the regal palace complex of the inspiring Jaigarh Fort.  Enjoy a panoramic view of the city and some wonderfully intricate architecture of this majestic stronghold that is surrounded by huge battlements. Notice the ingenious manner this Fort is connected to Amer Fort through subterranean passages. Relive the glories of a rich bygone era, that erected the Jaigarh Fort to protect Jaipur from rampaging rivals and warlords.

One of the most unique experiences in Jaipur, is a visit to the Amer Fort. Built out of gritty red sandstone and rich marble, the Fort rises magnificently from a large hill, against the stunning backdrop of the Maota Lake. Learn about the history and valour of the brave land of Rajasthan as you make your way through the vast and regal interiors as well as ramparts of this historic edifice. Your visit is not complete until you visit some of the prominent areas in the fort like the Diwan-I-Aam, the Sheesh Mahal and the Sukh Mahal.

A visit to the Nahargarh Fort will more than convince you about why this seemingly impregnable structure formed a famous troika along with the Amer and Jaigarh Forts, to establish a strong defence for Jaipur. Nahargarh literally means the ‘abode of tigers’ and this could well be an epithet used to describe the fierce warriors who once inhabited it and proudly guarded the city. Enthuse yourself with the stunning views that greet you from this fort, located within the lofty and historic Aravalli mountain ranges. Explore the intricate Indo-European architecture that defines the multiple structures that form the construction of this fort. Surely a must visit.

The venue offers you breath-taking panoramic views of the Pichola.The High Tea, presents you with two options — Indian and English High Tea. While English is our personal favourite serving scones and sandwiches, the Indian option would have us serve you local Mewari delicacies. In addition to our wide variety of selected tea, you can also pick amongst our authentic range of coffee and other beverages.

Taj Lake Palace is privileged to offer to you an experience on the historic Gangaur – the 150-year old boat used by the Maharanas for floating processions, celebrating festivals and royal ceremonies. Extensively featured in the classic James Bond film “Octopussy”, the Gangaur is the signature Taj Lake Palace dining experience, with twists and surprises that never cease to amaze and fascinate our guests. A group of maximum 14 guests can enjoy dinner on the boat, with 8 guests seating at the centre & 6 on the top deck. The Gangaur is also a great venue for that intimate experience – many a hand has been wooed (and won!)
