Bathed in sunshine and contemporary design, our all-day diner is true to its name. Famous in Chennai for blowout Sunday buffets, Mynt sees the city’s gourmands troop in for sumptuous world cuisine and great poolside views. On all days, the breakfast buffet is a medley of eggs, cereals, pancakes, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit juices, freshly-baked artisanal breads and live stations whipping up hot Indian snacks. Both the a la carte and buffet menus feature Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern and Continental classics. For guests on a specific diet, our chefs have crafted a Millennial Menu, with gluten-free, low-glycemic, high fibre, anti oxidants-packed super foods and probiotic options. But the secret star at Mynt is home-style cuisine from the temple town of Tanjore (Thanjavur) in Tamil Nadu. A unique culinary confluence of Brahmin, Mukkulathor and Maratha community settlers around the region, this capsule menu consists of family recipes recreated in our kitchen using home-style, hand-pounded spice mixes and traditional cooking techniques. Vegetarians exult in jackfruit cutlets and coconut, tomato-based curries, amaranth greens, mango pachadi, kutti urulai vathakal, kathirikka poricha curry and kozhambus while meat lovers feast on unusual seafood like vral (snake head fish), venginam meen (seer/Spanish mackerel), white bait and milk shark, along with addictive anchovy fries and mutton stews paired with spongy appam and lemon rice.
Signature Dishes - Kuzhi Paniyaram (savoury rice and lentil dumplings served with tomato chutney), Kalan Varuval (mushrooms shallow-fried with spices, a street staple from Coimbatore), Meen Kozhambu (fish curry flavoured with tamarind and curry leaves), Kari Milagu Peratal (cooked lamb tossed in spices, served on flatbread), Sambar Rice (Chennai’s favourite comfort food, a lentil-based, asafoetida-driven vegetable stew served with steamed rice)
